Senior Procurement Specialist – Land Rigs - Oil and Gas

The incumbent will provide specialist rig sector support within the overall wells team. This will include strategy development and execution, contract negotiation, and performance management. The role includes understanding the local business objectives and desired outcomes, engaging internal customers and building support for the initiatives, understanding options and risks associated with supply chain activities, building supplier relationships in order to achieve superior supplier performance, negotiating commercial terms to deliver best value solutions, and measuring / reporting the value delivered. The position will also provide coaching and guidance.

Responsibilities
• Works with relevant market sector and commodity managers to implement sourcing processes to ensure delivery of business plans and market sector/commodity strategies
• Proactively operates across segments and businesses to the wider benefit of client and removes roadblocks to enable the delivery of the agenda
• Routinely communicates openly with key business stakeholders to align direction between client and the internal customer directions
• Delivers robust cost management and minimizes business risk via rigorous contract management control
• Defines and adjust measures that include both tangible and intangible elements and reflect the prevailing opportunities in the marketplace
• Proactively explores the wider supply and industry markets to identify opportunities that client can leverage for great benefit delivery or to mitigate supply risk
• Understands business requirements for third party goods and services
• Leads the full sourcing process which includes development of scope, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, and contract execution
• Coaches less experienced staff
• Participates in company networks, sharing information, best practices and lessons learned.
• Actively contributes to the transformation of procurement supply chain management
• Leads the on-boarding of key stakeholders in supporting procurement supply chain management approaches to the external market, educating as necessary
• Routinely project manages sourcing activities prioritizing and rebalancing against business objectives
• Shapes, as necessary, contractual terms and conditions for review by legal, leveraging latest thinking in contracting methods to minimize risk and maximize advantage
• Identifies, implements and realizes value through effective ''strategic cost management'' utilizing best in class methods (e.g. should cost) and tools (e.g. e auctions)
• Proactively builds external relationships with cross industry peers including access to supply chain thought leaders to deliver continual thought leading challenge and subsequent benefit to client
• Supports and enables High Performing Team
• Undertakes due diligence in mitigating all external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution
Qualifications/Requirements
• Demonstrates skilful application of project management skills
• Demonstrates mastery of market sector strategy development & application, demand management, sourcing, supply chain risk management, contract execution and management, materials management
• Demonstrates expertise in Supplier performance management, Negotiating and Influencing Strategy
• Sponsors and collaborates on developing internal & external relationships , creating the future
• Relevant professional training, development and affiliation, commercial experience
• Relevant purchasing and supply chain experience
• Relevant oil and gas industry experience
