The VP of Indirect Procurement will lead the Indirect Procurement function. The Indirect Procurement team manages up to $8 billion of spend by the Corporate Functions and purchases of indirect items. High-quality and effective procurement and supply chain management is recognized as a clear strategic lever.
This is the highest-ranking post within the Indirect Procurement function. The purpose of the post is to unite the partially decentralized indirect discipline through proactive leadership, vision and strategy. The post also drives consistency and focus to functional themes, process, and performance in order to optimise the indirect, third party spend. One major key to the role is the alignment of senior leadership.

Company Information
1. Functional Health – Accountable for the overall health of the Indirect Procurement / Supply Chain Management function. Overall health includes the development and deployment of the functional vision, strategies, practices and processes that deliver incremental value, mitigate third party risks and effectively manage marketplace performance, to create competitive advantage.
2. Organizational Capacity – Accountable for assuring staff development and deployment across IP. This includes: long and short term planning around skills and competencies, functional succession planning, learning and organizational development, and people assurance.
3. Team Safety – Responsible for maintaining safety as a functional priority across the IP team and assuring alignment with contractors via contracts and Supplier Performance Management processes.
4. Segment and Group Alignment – Accountable for developing and maintaining direct alignment and connectivity between the IP team and its internal clients. Also responsible for interacting with PSCM leadership within the Businesses in order to encourage standardization, third party leverage, and potential process and system synergies. The IP representative on the Procurement Leadership Team (PLT) at a Group level, which consists of PSCM Heads from each Segment.
5. Functional Planning – Accountable for the overall functional planning and delivery of that plan which includes: Annual focus areas and global initiatives, functional progress, PSCM performance measurement and monitoring, and organization capability.
6. Functional Leadership and Network – Accountable for the facilitation and development of an effective Indirect Procurement leadership network. This encompasses leading by example, creation of the functional vision and strategy, driving diversity and inclusion, and management of change.
7. Global Team Performance – Accountable for the delivery of the global IP performance contract and additional ad-hoc commitments for the IP team.
8. Functional Ethics and Behaviours – Accountable for maintaining and monitoring the highest standards of ethical behaviours within the IP team with a focus on fairness, respect for people, law, community, and the environment in alignment with Code of Conduct.
9. Key Contractor Relationship Management – Accountable for identifying and maintaining strong global relationships with senior leadership of key third party contractors/suppliers. These relationships are intended to drive exceptional operational and safety performance, and value.
10. P2P Processes and Systems for Client – this role is accountable for the Group’s strategic direction and roadmap for Purchase to Pay processes and systems. This involves liaising with major projects within client, along with key subject matter experts and systems vendors.
• Increase awareness of the PSCM value proposition – This is accomplished by articulating and implementing a clear vision and strategy that is networked through the broad organization from leadership to frontline. This requires strong networking, influencing and engagement of both Business and Functional leadership.
• Drive broad organizational PSCM competencies – Build PSCM as an organizational core competence that will help to fully leverage supplier relationships through a systematic application of PSCM fundamentals and principles.
• Increase organizational capability – Work with leaders of the various Functions to lead and build a “best-in-class” PSCM organization that is capable of delivering Functional objectives into the future.
• Progress global sector initiatives – Drive specific global sector initiatives to deliver exceptional supplier performance, significant incremental value, and identify and mitigate associated risks.
• Improve supplier performance – deliver exceptional safety performance, and improved operational delivery through development and maintenance of key relationships in critical and vital market sectors.
• Encourage common process and systems –deliver excellence through common and efficient process and systems. Current examples are Purchase to Pay and Supplier Performance Management.
Demonstrated Leadership – Established leadership networking skills at a senior leadership level in a complex global organisation with a clear understanding of governance and delegation models. Very strong influencing and engagement skills are necessary, including the ability to be highly effective without direct lines of authority.
Communications – Strong communication and relationship management skills. Ability to manage conflict and/or high impact situations. Communication in written and presentation forms must be excellent.
Commercial – Ability to analyse and understand the marketplace, economics, and finance with a strong bias towards action, strategy development and implementation, whilst recognising the need for risk mitigation.
Functional Lead – Past experience in key Indirect Procurement functional role a plus.
Qualifications - University degree in business or technical discipline.
