Responsibilities
• Responsible for sourcing all metal requirements for production within his/her area of
responsibility based on knowledge metal markets and availability. Handles negotiations
with suppliers for materials or metal services in accordance with corporate objectives.
Generates cost reduction ideas in various forms and works directly with relevant
departments in order to realize these savings.
• Strong knowledge of both domestic and global sources of metal supply. Ensures a quality
and timely supply of metal to meet production schedules.
• Liaison with Commercial Sales team regarding the use of various metal substrates for
specific applications; provide timely responses on quotations and sample requests.
• Negotiate, resolve and provide direction to the SQE’s on the disposition of HFI/rejected
materials in a timely basis.
• Direct all volume purchases for metal production materials, i.e. consignment, stocking
programs, rebate programs.
• Understand current domestic and global markets to ensure strategically sourcing of metal
requirements at lowest total cost of acquisition.
• Assists in developing and maintaining all formal Purchasing procedures in accordance with
TS16949 Element 4.6. Ensures verification of raw material certifications meet specifications.
Qualifications/Requirements
• An undergraduate degree is required; a Master's degree in Supply Chain is desired.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and/or project management is desired.
• Experience working with global teams and cross-regional projects is a plus. Looking for
someone who understands Global market.
• Knowledge of automotive industry preferred.
• Substantial strategic sourcing knowledge and experience within the purchasing of metals,
primarily with flat, cold rolled steel products. Experience working with steel mills is critical.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills.
• Project management skills with ability to coordinate and lead meetings with vendors and
stakeholders. Ability to prioritize deliverables to meet sensitive timelines and stakeholders
expectations.
• MAPICS and/or MRP II experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be resourceful in order to achieve business
outcomes.

• Knowledgeable of currency exchange dynamics and rates.

• Acts as a liaison or resources to Sales team when contemplating different sources of fluid
products for specific applications.
• Ability to translate corporate Goals & Objectives into meaningful and actionable category
management tactics.
Qualifications/Requirements
• An undergraduate degree is required; a Master's degree in Supply Chain is desired.
• Substantial strategic sourcing experience within the fluid products category.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills.
• Experience required in a manufacturing environment with exposure to metal
