Opportunity Highlights: This key role will be a significant part of a strong procurement group for the sourcing organization of a true world leader in telecom and communications. The incumbent will have significant oversight and responsibility for a cross-enterprise services procurement team and will manage the portfolio of services associated with facilities and operations. This will focus on the stewardship and governance of key spend associated with professional services, consultants, contractors, HR, training, office supplies/services/equipment, print, postage and others. The Director will also lead the development of sourcing strategies with the goal of optimizing cost, driving ongoing performance from the supply-base, and increasing value-for-money in spend in the above listed categories. In addition to the leadership responsibilities mentioned above, the Director will also provide counsel and coaching to more junior sourcing and procurement team members. Here are some other key responsibilities:
• Provide strategic insights on transactional movements in annual spend
• Develop/drive strategic approach to achieving annual savings targets and track results of efforts
• Lead Strategic Sourcing initiatives to minimize category spend (3-5 projects per year) and present updates, analysis, and recommendations to stakeholders
• Responsible for supplier performance including chairing regular performance reviews, business development and supplier awards programs
• Champion procurement transformation projects with the support of the team
• Mentor and educate other staff in procurement concepts, financial analysis and world-wide marketplace
